Ethics Committee Approval and Patient Consent

Research involving human participants or animals submitted to the International Journal of Intelligent Computing Systems must have prior approval from an institutional review board (IRB) or relevant ethics committee. The name of the approving body must be clearly stated in the manuscript. All studies involving human subjects must follow the ethical principles outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki.

For research involving human subjects, informed consent must be obtained from all participants or patients. Authors must protect the privacy and identity of all individuals involved. The journal encourages compliance with the ethical guidance provided by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

The manuscript must clearly state whether informed consent was obtained. This information should be included in the Methods section, Acknowledgements, or in a dedicated section. If informed consent was obtained verbally or not obtained due to special circumstances, this must be justified and approved by the ethics committee.

Note: These ethical compliance requirements apply only to research involving human participants, personal data, or biological materials. Authors submitting computational, simulation-based, or theoretical studies that do not involve human subjects are not required to provide ethics committee approval or informed consent documentation.
